Happy Birthday Amanda McKie!!!

Name: Amanda McKieStudent’s Name: Jack McKie Student’s Graduation Year:2016 Your Birthday: December 2 Blog: themarvelousmckies.blogspot.com

-Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I am now a 27 year old Mom that grew up in Idaho. I was born on my Mother's birthday, at 3 in the afternoon. I have always been the oldest of everything. Siblings, all my cousins and even between Jack and I. I went to school in special education, and most of my experience is with semi dangerous behavioral teenagers. My dream job would be to do what Supernanny does. I was harassed in high school about a "freak toe" that I now love. The most wonderful gift I have ever gotten was a collector's set of ninja turtles, from an anonymous friend in college. I was a part of a movement to keep Del Taco Tuesday at 3 tacos for 99 cents. I learned this year that I am a "legend" at my high school that consequently makes it so every girl in the marching band that is also on Homecoming Court has to figure out how to perform and wear a dress at the same time.

*What would be your perfect day?
It's always April 25th
“because it’s not too hot, and not too cold. All you need is a light jacket!”
It's a lucky day for me, look forward to it every year.

*What is one of your most embarrassing moments?
When I was in grade school, the neighbor boy (who was cute) would come over and wait at our house for the bus to come. His parents were both teachers and would need to be to school early. One particular morning I had gotten out of the shower, put on my panties and was leaping back and forth from the bathroom to my bedroom (right across from each other) singing "underwear! beautiful underwear!" eventually I got dressed and came out for some breakfast. He was sitting on the couch...have no idea if he was there for the show, but I am going to guess that since he is doing amazing things for the PGA and I am not married to him, that was the deal breaker.
*Where is the most amazing place you've ever been?
Disneyland. Granted I know many people have been to Disneyland. But I love Disneyland with all my heart. Disneyland's number is in my phone. We have a relationship.

What pushed me over the edge was when they were doing a "year of a million dreams" I attended with some of my best friends in the world. Our dreams came true when we scored passes to stay in the park after it closed, have a dance party with Mickey until everyone else vacated the park and we had one hour of a practically empty park.

*What is the craziest thing that has ever happened to you?
(I changed this question just a little because I have never purposefully done anything crazy, they just happen. )
I chased a llama that I put a flat stanley on his back, who turned around and spit in my face and my mouth
I had two men express their want to marry me at the same time. I didn't marry either of them.
I got bit pretty badly working with behavioral teenagers (long story involving cops and fire engines) and when I went in to work med and stated that I was bit, she didn't even look at me and said "human or animal" like it was no big deal.
*How did you and your significant other meet?
Jack and I met at a youth church dance when we were 14. I had just moved to the area 2 weeks previous. Jack thought I was gangly and my voice cracked. I hardly remember him. We attended rival high schools, and I have written evidence that I thought he was attractive. We didn't start dating however until a year after he returned from his LDS mission.
*What is your favorite movie?
Lord of the Rings. My dad bought me the extended versions thinking that I would grow out of my obsession with them when I was younger. When I tried to move to college with them, he made me a deal that I couldn't actually take them until I got married because he wanted them too... Been married for almost 4 years, best 4 years of my life.
*What is your favorite tv show?
The Big Bang Theory. I find many correlations of it to people I have dated.
*Best birthday memory?
The year my boyfriend taped my present to the side of a cow and made me chase it in the manure cover coral to get it. He brought me my coveralls from the ag shop at school, and some irrigation boots so I didn't ruin my clothes. He also picked the gimpy cow to make it easier. Worth it, it was good.

*What was the best job you ever had?
I have had some crazy jobs with some crazy stories, but the best one was a janitor at BYU during the summer when they would have LARGE youth come for a week at a time for a church camp called especially for youth. After they would leave, they would leave a mess and usually some really awesome stuff. For instance. Once we found a cart FULL of pop, candy treats etc. in the trash room. They used the elevator to get it in there, and hid it I am sure and for some reason left it ALL.
*What is one thing most people don't know about you?
Here's two:
I learned to play 9 instruments in my life thus far
As of my birthday, I have 80 Nutcrakers in my collection

*If you could get any gift for your birthday this year, what would it be?
A shopping spree for things that are sparkly. I am a sucker for crystals, rhinestones and all things that glitter. If it were age appropriate I would give myself a glitter dusting before leaving the house.
*What was one of your favorite vacations?
I have been all over the country, even up to Canada once, but nothing trumps Disneyland.
*What is your favorite food?
French Fries with fry sauce, Dr. Pepper, hot pockets, and squeaky cheese
*What is the first concert you went to?
Yellow Card, first and only. Stood behind a man wearing a flock of seagulls shirt, went with my best friend Mandy. It was the best day...
*What is your favorite holiday and why?
It's Christmas. My parents made a HUGE effort to make Christmas magical and who doesn't love to even still be doted on by Santa when they wake up in the morning, regardless of their age. Santa is finding us at our house this year, and it will still be magical!

*What is your favorite season and why?
Summer. Bring on the heat, the sun, family reunions, BBQs and camping.
*When was the last time you cried?
I cry every day when Rapunzel returns to her parents and they have a group hug. Every day. Same part. Not a joke.
